The Heliodorian Foothills are a region in Dragon Quest XI. It is located to the west of the Kingdom of Heliodor. The Manglegrove is found in the southwest and there is an entrance in the northeast that leads to Downtown Heliodor.
Story[edit | edit source]
The Luminary and Erik end up here after their bold escape from the Heliodor Sewers. The next day, the Luminary is awakened by Erik in a small church just outside of the city. According to him, he woke up on the forest floor at the bottom of the cliff without a single scratch after their leap of faith and had to drag the Luminary with him as he was still unconscious. The two speak to the nun in charge of the church, who informs them that there are dangerous criminals who escaped from the capital, with guards searching everywhere for them. She tells them that they are free to stay at the church as long as they like.
Outside of the church, Erik discusses his plans with the Luminary and says still has some unfinished business to take care of in Downtown Heliodor. He gives the young man a hood as a disguise and formally joins as a party member, saying that the Seer told him to stick with the Luminary. The player is then shown a tutorial on how to use Pep Powers.
