The Flamethrower is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV. It is a floating elemental spirit with pyrokinetic abilities.

It can be recruited from Upper Level East of the Knightmare Towers at any difficulty, eventually becoming recruitable in the second part of the main storyline from Chapter 1, Episode 4: Back to the Castle. The flamethrower can participate in Kon the Knight and Wax murderer's Battle Roads as a party member.
