The golden gloom is a dull yellow pallet swap of the cumaulus monster that original appeared in the Game Boy Color port of Dragon Quest III.
It was added into Dragon Quest X with the version 3.2 update, along with Dragon Quest of the Stars and Monster Parade, making it one of the few monsters to see subsequent appearances beyond the portable version of III.
