Salamander fry is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV. It is a red, fire-elemental variant of the Killer gila.
Characteristics
Salamander fry are large amphibians with bumpy red skin, orange undersides, and a long tail that crawl on all fours. They have four pairs of frills on the side of their heads, long purple tongues that loll lazily out of their mouths, and a tall fin with green webbing running down their back. Like their mythological namesake, salamander fry are capable of using fire against their enemies.
