The stump chump is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV.
It is an animated husk of a felled tree, noted for its use of medicinal herbs during battle. Typically it appears during the earliest parts of an adventure, and its relationship with treefaces (if any) is unknown.
