Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]
The Hate mail has a Defence bonus of +65, a Style bonus of +15, and reduces damage taken from Frizz, Sizz, Bang, Woosh, and Crack spells by 30. However, it is cursed and has a 1⁄3 chance of paralysing the wearer for a single turn during battle. It can be equipped by the Hero, Kiefer, and Aishe. One suit can be found in Nottagen Cavern and another in the Beacon in the past. Hate mail can also be won as prizes from the Lucky Panel at Buccanham's Casino.
- In the Nintendo 3DS version, hate mail can be won as a reward for clearing a custom Traveller's Tablet with a Hellstalker as the boss.

The Hate mail has a Defence bonus of +70, increases damage inflicted on enemies by 20%, and reduces damage taken from all attacks by 20%. However, it is cursed and has a 1⁄5 chance of stunning the wearer for a single turn in battle. It can be equipped by the Hero, Ruff, and Aishe. The armour can be dropped rarely by Hyperpyrexion.
