Massive great hulking [[Beast family|beast]]s that loom high above adventurers' heads, found lurking in only the darkest and most dangerous places. They use their massive feet to cause deadly damage and whilst they are mighty physical attackers, they can still cast a magic barrier to protect themselves from any slung spells. According to its bestiary description in ''X'', there is fierce debate among monsters about whether the gnumesis belongs to the beast or demon family.
