The Drakulard is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest VII, they are bipedal dragons of noticeable girth.
Girthy grand green dragons with massive claws used for mashing enemies and smashing straight into the ground in order to cause outright earthquakes. Their fiery breath hits a party of adventurers hard, getting increasingly hot as the battle goes on. They even pack strong wind magic, letting loose with the Kaswoosh spell when they feel threatened.

The Giga Draco is a five-star monster with a weight of 6. In this game, it is a member of the Beast family instead of being a dragon. It naturally learns Fire Breath, Blaze Cut and Body Slam. Its in-game description reads "Even its eggs are large. It can lay batches of 100."

| Field Notes |
A legendary lizard of epic proportions. Its brobdingnagian hulk protects it against all ordinary attacks. Other monsters often mistake it for a mountain, and try to scale its scaly sides and plant flags in its forehead. |

- Despite being named for their obese appearance, the Drakulards and its variants are not the most proportionally portly dragons. This distinction goes to the Jargon and their variants.
- Their appearance and coloring in their Dragon Quest Monsters 2 sprite is different from other artworks of this monster. This is likely because it was based on an earlier, non-finalised design.
