The Gustodian is a monster that appears in Dragon Quest VI.

Characteristics

Looking an ethereal ancient genie, Gustodians stare with a pair of wretched red eyes in a gust of green wispy smoke and purple hands poking from their sides. They whip through foes with a windy Woosh spell when threatened.

Etymology

The name Gustodian is a pun based on a gust of wind and the word custodian combined, as they protect and guard the tower from intruders with their wicked winds. Its Japanese name, Kotodama User, refers to the Japanese mystic belief of Kotodama, the power of words.
