Sidequests, refered to in-game as simply quests, are optional tasks assigned by NPC's in the games of Dragon Quest series that give various rewards to the Hero upon completion.

The can range from unlocking new features to powerful equipment while others are simply fun ways for the player to spend time. Do note that the post-game labyrinths do not count as traditional sidequests; those are classified as bonus dungeons instead.
