The Night clubber is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest IV. As its name suggests, it is a powerful demon that carries an incredibly large club that it uses to bash enemies.
Night clubbers are rotund, lizard-like demons with red or magenta hides holding giant wooden clubs. They have solid yellow eyes, spikes covering their heads, a long green tongue lolling out of their mouths, and a pair of wings on their back. These wings can fly, though due to the night clubbers' immense size, they slam down on the ground, which creates a shockwave, being a blessing in disguise for these big lugs. Later games also added the ability to breathe out scorching flames to the night clubbers' offensive repertoire. They appear to be the same type of demon that Balzack transformed himself into after using the imperfect form of the Secret of Evolution. In some games, they are part of the Beast family or Dragon family instead.
Night clubbers appeared from the beginning of the game, making their first reappearance in the main series since IV. In this game, they are considered dragons. They are able to land desperate attacks and can breathe out blazing fire at their opponents.
These ferocious fiends are known for their colossal clubs and scarlet scales. Their wings have shrunk over time, leaving them incapable of flight, a small mercy for those attempting to flee these beasts
A brutal beast that batters its enemies black and blue with a barbed bludgeon, smiling all the while. Though winged, its doomed to stay ground-bount—the more it trains its flight muscles, the more mass it amasses.
Night clubber appears as a S-rank monster of the Beast family that can be scouted normally from any banner. It can be faced as the boss of Chapter 13, Episode 9: A Night for Clubbing in the main storyline.
