Surene

Surene is a town in Dragon Warrior IV and is immediately west of Santeem Castle. Since Santeem has no shops, Surene acts as a base of operations for Alena and her party in chapter 2. The town has a House of Healing, two Weapon Shops, an Armor Shop, an Inn, and the home of the king of Santeem's former tutor. The entire eastern section of town is innaccessible until chapter 5 after the Magic Key is obtained.

The first weapon shop sells Clubs, Copper Swords, and Thorn Whips. The armor shop sells Basic Clothes, Wayfarer's Clothes, Leather Armor, Leather Shields, Leather Hats, and Medical Herbs. The inn costs 2 Gold per person. The second weapon shop sells Poison Needles, Broad Swords, Staffs of Force, Battle Axes, Cloaks of Evasion, and Iron Masks. The king's former tutor in the southeast corner of town tells you about a sign which is on the north edge of town.
