The Bloodbonnet, also known as the Fire-eater, is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest V. It is an unusual alien-like monster that forms a duo with the Goobonce.
Characteristics
Bloodbonnets are squat bipedal demons with bizarre forms, their most notable feature being the large, elongated pink forehead which give the monster their name. They have a singular yellow eye in the center of their faces and two eyes on antennae-like stalks protruding from their shoulders. The monsters have gleeful expressions revealing a set of sharp fangs and they have two sharp black claws on both their hands and feet, which contain either deadly poison or paralytic toxins they can deliver in slashing attacks. The bloodbonnet almost always appears alongside the goobonce, which has the opposite coloration as them. However, their bestiary description in XI implies that their relationship is strictly professional.
