"Tee hee hee! Thanks, lads! I'll be the best dancin' girl this island's ever seen, an' make me old mum proud!"

Babs is a character in Dragon Quest Builders 2, residing in the ruined mining colony of Khrumbul-Dun. She is the daughter of Den the bartender, and is one of the main characters of the Khrumbul-Dun section of the game.

Appearance and Personality

Babs' is initially seen wearing the typical villager's vesture: a red dress with a white inner blouse, red shoes and a black sash around her waist. Her ash-grey hair is tied back in a low ponytail with a white ribbon. She has turquoise upturned eyes. She is considered to be extremely gorgeous and attractive by the townsfolk. When performing, she wears a bunny suit with fishnet stockings, bunny ears, two gold bangles on each wrist, and a red choker with a gold heart. She has three different bunny suit outfits.

Her first bunny suit is the standard bunny suit outfit, with a black bustier bodysuit, black high heels, and a bunny tail on the back. Her second bunny suit changes her black suit and heels to red, and her hair is styled differently where her hair flips at the back. Her final bunny suit has the insides of her bunny ears become pink, with a pink bracelet around one ear, and she wears a low-collared white vest with a gold trim. She wears a peachy-orange wig that is done up in a more wild style. Note that this last appearance is kept when bringing Babs to the Isle of Awakening.

Babs is a humble and softspoken girl who is very excited at the prospect of reviving Khrumbul-Dun and the Golden Age - the era before the Children came, where mining was effortless and ores were plentiful - at the behest of the Builder, doing her best to aid them when possible. She also considers the needs of the masked thugs who work the mine, being fully aware of how arduous the excavation can be, and suggests the construction of an ornate pool with a dancing stage to help them unwind after a hard day's labor.

However, she is seen to greatly favour the Builder over the other townsfolk, to the point where others become jealous and possessive over her. After the Builder creates a mushroom cookroom for Babs, upon her request, she experiments with recipes and occasionally makes lunches for the Builder before a trip to the mines. Her other admirers are visibly frustrated that they don't get the same special treatment from her.

Dragon Quest Builders 2

Babs first meets the Builder when they fall into a hole with Malroth, providing sand as building blocks to staircase out. Hearing that the Builder is, in fact, a builder, she leads them to the nearby town in hopes of rebuilding the place and opening the abandoned mines. Upon talking to the townspeople, they realise that the Children of Hargon had also gotten to Khrumbul-Dun; destroying the enterance to the mines, inflicting their beliefs on everybody, and the Underseer of Khrumbul-Dun Madusa had turned most of the metal to stone. The townsfolk, at this point, are all averse to the idea of creation and building, except for Babs. Not long after, the ground rumbles and the people find a stone golem, hiding away underneath layers of earth. After a while, Magrog realises that the monster was actually the gold golem Goldirox.

To restore the Golden Age of Khrumbul-Dun, they figure that they must help Goldirox regain his power by imbuing him with the power of mined ore. At first, the miners are slow, but after building various entertainment facilities like bars and improving quality of life, the miners' morales are boosted and they mine quicker. One of ther major driving goals is to see Babs dance on stage in her bunny costume, which she continuously teases to keep them working efficiently. She insists on perfecting her performance, revealing that her mother was a bunny girl and that she always wanted to follow in her footsteps.

After changing her wardrobe twice and postponing her dance routine multiple times, she decides that it is time to perform. She throws a party at the newly built Silver Bar after Goldirox is finally restored to his golden form, and dances atop the stage, but her outstanding shine is caught by the nasty gaze of the Madusa. She, in a fit of jealousy, turns Babs to stone. The night is ruined and the miners become just as unmotivated as they were in the beginning. But after Jules proposes an idea to lure Madusa out and the Builder creates the blueprint of the Gold Bar, everyone is inspired to work again in a sudden drive to save Babs by defeating Madusa and breaking her curse.

After defeating Madusa, the Builder obtains the Heartstone that she had stolen from Goldirox and transforms it into the Golden Glow to give him his powers back and bring back the Golden Age with them. Goldirox tells everyone that unfortunately, upon using it, he will disappear - but he will become a part of the Gold Mine, and Babs' curse will be broken. He makes the ultimate sacrifice, Babs is brought back to life, and the Khrumbul-Dunnians throw a party for her return. In the morning, Babs has a heartfelt conversation with Goldirox's spirit, and afterwards she and a few others join the Builder, leaving for the Isle of Awakening.
