"Yes... Death is the end. There is naught beyond it but infinite nothingness. It is a fearful thing indeed..."
Warwick (リック, Rikku?, lit. Rick) is a knight of Moonbrooke appearing in Dragon Quest Builders 2. He is the captain of the Moonbrooke Brigade of Guards, and the kingdom's finest swordsman. He and Anessa serve as knights and advisors to the King of Moonbrooke.
Appearance and Personality
Warwick wears the standard in-game craftable chain mail armour and outfit, which includes a gray chain mail jacket with pauldrons, light grey britches and a brown leather belt with a gold buckle. The hem of the chain mail jacket is lined with a dark orange, and his gloves are the same colour. His gloves are plated with metal on the dorsal sides of the hands. His boots are brown with beige cuffs, which also have metal caps and metal heels. He has hazel eyes and possesses short blue hair in the hairstyle "mussed mop". In his character art, he is depicted with an iron broadsword, but initially appears with a copper sword. He talks formally, but occasionally inserts exclamations like "Jolly good!" or "By Jove!" like other Moonbrooke townsfolk.
He has an intense fear and hatred of death, shown to act distraught when some of his allies die and screams his questions to the goddess over their graves; he himself is terrified of his own death and the sight of the deceased reminds him he is also mortal. He claims to seek to end the "accursed war" between monsters and humans on Moonbrooke. The war continues to rage on as all participants are followers of the Children of Hargon, who encourage the endless destruction brought by the endless war. Warwick openly opposes these beliefs when working with the Builder. He also seems to be close with Anessa, both being the King's advisors and training with her to become soldiers.

Etymology
- His English name, "Warwick", could have been inspired by the historical figure Richard Neville (aka Warwick the Kingmaker)[1]. The following explanation is largely condensed and summarized.
- His Spanish name, "Ludovico", could come from Shakespeare's play, The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice (Othello for short)[2].
- Anessa and Warwick's French names ("Athéna" and "Martial") both derive from gods of war (Greek goddess "Athena"; Roman god "Mars").
- His German name, "Hektor", could possibly have come from the Trojan warrior "Hector" in Greek mythology[3].

Trivia
- Anessa and Warwick may be a parallel to Dragon Quest XI's Hendrik and Jasper.
- Warwick may also be a parallel to Dragon Quest X's Quad.
- Molly, after the events of the main game and after being brought to the Isle of Awakening, will off-handedly mention that she once saw a silvapthecus that was half human. It is unknown when exactly she saw this, but it is possible that it could have been Warwick. How exactly he could have managed to become half-human later down the line is also a mystery.
