The firespirit is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series that was introduced in Dragon Quest IV. It is an apparition that specialises in casting Frizz spells.
Firespirits, as suggested by their name, are spirits composed of fire. Lacking a concrete physical form, they can shrug off attacks surprisingly well. They can be tricky opponents for novice adventurers to face as they can quickly outnumber them by multiplying themselves, then set them ablaze with their fire magic. However, their limited magic power often means they're often only able to cast a single Frizz spell. Depending on the game, they are either part of the undead family or elemental family.
A physical manifestation of fire magic. As this monster lacks a material body, most physical attacks pass right through it. Try raising your tension level when fighting them.
No-one knows for certain how these monsters came to be. Some believe they were born of the fiery 'Frizz' spell, while others think they are the souls of those who died with a burning desire for revenge
Phantoms formed from infernal flames who attack adventurers with scorching spells. Scholars are undecided whether they are the embodiments of the Frizz spell, or the sizzling souls of the damned.
Firespirit appears as an E-rank monster of the Undead family. It can be recruited from Chapters 13-5 and 13-6 of the main storyline and it can participate in the Ghost, Walking corpse, and Maam's Battle Roads as a party member.
