For the advanced spellcasting vocation introduced in Dragon Quest VII, see Druid.
The lump wizard is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest III.
Lump wizards are easily some of the most bizarre looking monsters in the humanoid family, being little more than a countenanced carbuncle holding a gnarled wooden staff. The wrinkles on their skin is matched only by those on their brains, and they possess an annoyingly high level of resistance to status ailments. According to their monster info in X, lump wizards are born with smooth bodies, but gain their wrinkles as they age. The wizards often cast wind magic in battle and can seal away the spells of other mages with Fizzle.

Lump wizard appears as a B-rank monster of the Demon family as part of the limited Dragon Quest XI event. It can be scouted from Chapter 1, Episode 3: Veronica of the event quests at any difficulty and it can participate in Jade's Battle Road as a party member. The lump wizard can eventually be scouted from Part 3 of the main storyline from Chapter 7, Episode 8: Ace in the Hole.
- The lump wizard and its pallet swap cousins bear a resemblance to the Nuppeppou, a blob-like yokai that vaguely resembles a human and whose folds of flesh give it the impression of having a face. The Lump wizard bears the closest resemblance, having the same flesh-tone skin as the yokai.
