The gold digger is a mass of once-liquid gold that has since hardened into uneven ingots. The pile of precious metal serves as an ideal target for amassing quick cash.
The monster formerly shared it's Japanese name with the gold golem from its debut in 1988 through 2025, when it was renamed in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.

- The gold digger has demonstrated full immunity to Lightning damage in all of it's appearances despite gold being used as a conductor of electricity in real life.
