The Bamboo pole is a spear in the series.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
The pole is a simple weapon that consists of little more than a length of bamboo with one end chopped and sharpened to a point. In some illustrations, it has a rudimentary grip made of cloth near the base. The bamboo pole's position as the weakest weapon in the game would be taken over in subsequent games by the Cypress stick.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- There is an illustration of the Prince of Cannock wielding the bamboo pole in the Official Guide Book for Dragon Quest II for the Famicom, despite the weapon not appearing in the original version of the game.
