The Bamboo spear is a recurring spear in the Dragon Quest series. It is a low-level weapon suited for new adventurers.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride[edit | edit source]
The Bamboo spear has an Attack bonus of +5 and can be equipped by the Hero, Parry, Sancho, and various monster companions. It can be purchased for 50 gold from Whealbrook and Roundbeck during the Hero's youth and sold for 25 gold. It can also be dropped by Lickspittles.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit | edit source]
The Bamboo spear has an Attack bonus of +5, a Style bonus of +1, and can be equipped by the Hero, Carver, Nevan, Terry, and Lizzie. It can be purchased for 50 gold from Weaver's Peak and Haggleton and sold for 37 gold. It is also part of Carver's initial equipment and can be found in a dresser in Port Haven. The spear can be dropped by Babygoyles and Darkgoyles.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]
The Bamboo spear once again has an Attack bonus of +5 and a Style bonus of +1. It can be equipped by all characters, but when it is equipped by Ruff, it actually decreases his Attack by 2. The spear can be purchased for 50 gold from Estard and Ballymolloy in the past and sold for 25 gold.

The Bamboo spear is Treasure No. 191 in the Weapons category and can be found on Cinderback Ridge. Its base value is 20,000 gold.
