The Frostburn is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest II. It is an elemental composed of cold flames with control over ice.
Introduced in Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line, it is a blue, icy variant of the Dancing flame. Like the dancing flames' power over fire, the frostburns' power over ice is great. Additionally, and unfortunately, they are normally adept at instant-death magic, making them a considerable threat when encountered as a group.
Frostburns are Elementals, and as such immune to all forms of damage outside of Sizz shots and magical weapons. Do not approach until the Builder has either of these.
Magical manifestations of the frozen souls of spurned lovers that spew ley spells all over the place. They'll often ambush adventurers as they emerge from the darkest dungeons, and kill them in cold blood.
Frostburn appears as a B-rank monster of the Inorganic family as part of the limited Dragon Quest II event. It can be recruited from the Passage to Rendarak dungeon on the 3rd, 8th, and 13th floors, eventually being recruitable from the second part of the main storyline from Chapter 4, Episode 6: Uncertainty. The frostburn can also be recruited from Chapter 2, Episode 4 of Tropical Hijinks?! of the 1-Year Wrap Party post-anniversary event at any difficulty, as well.
