The Gargoyle is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest II. It is an airborne, sword-wielding menace with both avian and human features.
Gargoyles are unusual humanoid creatures with a large pair of leathery, bat-like wings on their back, a pair of blue horns on their heads, and bird-like beaks. They have light teal skin and wear purple tunics, brown leggings, and a pair of blue gloves and boots. The winged nuisances stay aloft in midair with their wings, wielding swords in their right hands and having the ability to seal away the magic of adventurers with Fizzle.
The Gargoyle is a three-star member of the Beast family with a weight of 3. Its in-game description reads "It's always flying because it has lousy footwork."
