Ghouls have rotten blue-grey skin, an unkempt mass of grey hair, and they wear dull red and green rotting clothes. In their original appearance, they were the strongest variety of the walking dead and even gained the ability to cast simple fire magic against their foes. Later appearances in the series gave them the ability to call upon more of their kind from beyond the grave to aid them in battle, as well as being able to Poison with both their claws and venomous exhalations.
Strike or slice these monsters all you want; their undead flesh feels no pain. Beware of their tendency to call in fellow ghouls to sway the odds in their favor.
Ghouls began appearing from the beginning of the game. Like before, they are able to call from backup from more of their kind in battle. They are now able to breathe out Sweet Breath in order to put adventurers to sleep and can place curses on their opponents, as well.
Buried bodies brought back to some semblance of life. Strike and slice all you like—their undead flesh feels no pain. They may be teeming with toxins, but their bodies are so rotten anyway that it doesn't make a difference.
Ghoul appears as a B-rank monster of the Undead family as part of the Dragon Quest II event. It can be recruited from the Dirkandor stage from "Adventure in the DQII World" at any difficulty, eventually becoming recruitable in the second part of the storyline from Chapter 4, Episode 2: Forms of Appearance. The ghoul can participate in Madusa and Winter Queen's Battle Roads as a party member.
A ghoul (غول, ghūl) is a demon-like creature or monstrous being from pre-Islamic Arabian mythology that is said to feast on corpses and is associated with graveyards. In modern fiction, the term is used to refer to a specific type of monster.
