The Gremlin is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest II.

Characteristics

Gremlins are members of the demon family and are a classic Dragon Quest enemy. They have diminutive childlike bodies with pink or purple skin, a lizard's tail, a small pair of wings on its back, and a tiny pair of blue horns on its head. They are mischievous creatures, their tongues constantly seen sticking out of their mouths, floating about in battle at all times and being capable of casting a variety of different spells and breathing out flames at their opponents. After their initial appearance, gremlins were relegated mostly to spinoff games in the series until they returned in X, like many classic monsters.

Dragon Quest Tact

Gremlin appears as a B-rank monster of the Demon family as part of the limited Dragon Quest II event. It can learn Reheal, Frizzle, and Fiery Breath naturally and it stars in its own Battle Road. Gremlin will join the party in Chapter 3, Episode 4: Almost Out! of the event quests and it can be fully awakened by journeying through the Passage to Rendarak dungeon, where it appears as an enemy on the 5th, 10th, and 15th floors.

Notes

The deviled egg, a variation of the bad egg, is based on its design.
