Krystalinda (リーズレット, Leedslet, Krystalinda^?) is a character in Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age. She is an ice witch responsible for freezing the kingdom of Sniflheim and is faced as a boss.

Appearance and Character

Krystalinda is a beautiful, voluptuous woman with light purple "frostbitten" skin and curly ash blonde hair worn in an elaborate updo. She has light blue eyes, wears purple lipstick and eyeshadow, and her fingernails are painted blue. Krystalinda wears a skintight silver jumpsuit with red corset lacing on the front, snowflake patterns on the legs, and gold embroidering on the wrists with rubies, as well as a pair of silver high-heeled ankle boots with the same gold designs with rubies. Attached to her suit is a long, dark purple cape with an ornate design on the back and purple feathers on the collar which reaches down to her ankles and has dangling gold diamonds at the end. On her forehead, she wears a gold beaded circlet with a large lozenge-cut red gemstone in a gold facet on the front and three smaller, dangling red jewels, a triple-looped gold bead necklace adorned with red jewels, and gold hoop earrings with dangling red gemstones, as well. She carries a tall red wand, both ends of which are covered with ice crystals.

She was born in an ancient nation long ago, but was sealed away in a grimoire by a mage and kept at the very top of the Royal Library for over a thousand years. Sometime in his youth, Jasper came across the book during his magic studies and years later, would unseal the witch, gaining her loyalty. Krystalinda came to fall in love with Jasper and dutifully obeyed his commands since she believed that he was a good man. She has a romantic personality and has been in love many times over the years, all of which she remembers fondly. After being defeated and her treacherous ways are revealed by the party, she promises to change her ways since she does not wish to be sealed in the tome once again. Queen Frysabel vouches for the ice witch, having struck up an odd friendship during her captivity, and she becomes the young queen's advisor. Her prized possession is a letter from her first love and her favorite drink is sake from Sniflheim. She spends a lot of her free time at the tavern in Sniflheim.

Krystalinda appeared as a card exclusive for Mage leader characters in the 9th card pack, "Reunion and Oath of Lotozetasia".

Dragon Quest Tact

Krystalinda appears as an A-rank monster of the Demon family as part of the limited Dragon Quest XI event. She will join the player in Chapter 4, Episode 4 of the event quests and she can be fully awakened by completing the quest at any difficulty. Krystalinda also stars in her own Battle Road.

Krystalinda also appears dressed as Santa as an S-rank member of the Demon family as part of the special A Winter Wonderland with the Ice Witch limited event on her own banner alongside the Gold golem. Starting with Version 3.0 of the game, she can be scouted from any limited banner, as well. She is faced as a boss in Chapter 2, Episode 5 of the event quests, as well as on the 20th, 25th, and 30th floors of the Blue Tower. Santa Krystalinda can also participate in the Jolly sasquash's Battle Road as a party member.

Trivia

• Krystalinda's height is 170 cm or 5' 7". She threatens to freeze anyone solid when asked about her weight.
• She shares a voice actress with Queen Marina in the English version of the game. In the Japanese version, she shares a voice actress with Maya Mahabala.
• Her motto, "Men have courage, women have courage, too," is a spin on a Japanese proverb (男は度胸、女は愛嬌) which states that "men have courage, women should be charming".
