A gem slime is a slime shaped like a golden, brilliant-cut diamond, a trait most apparent when viewed from the side since its back tapers to a point away from its front. It also has a tiara-like crown that bends back and appears to be attached to the point of its jewel-shaped body. In certain games, it has an animation where it extends its facets into eight points, giving it the appearance of a shining sun. Gem slimes are one of the best, if not the best, source of gold, netting an adventurer several thousand for defeating one. In several games, they possess a metallic body like that of a metal slime, making them difficult to harm, and regularly flee from battle.
According to its description in Dragon Quest X, there is a legend that anyone who defeats this monster will never have to worry about gold again, which is why they are constantly hunted by adventurers.
Gem slime began appearing in Version 1.2. Like in the previous games, these slimes have a metallic body that is hard to damage, they can cast Magic Burst, and will drop 10,080 gold. Due to its high amount of MP, it will likely defeat a party full of players if it is able to cast Magic Burst. They can be encountered in the hidden floors of Magic Labyrinths.
The Gem slime is a Rank S two-slot monster with the Metal Body trait. It can be synthesized by combining a gold slime, Golden pearl slime, gold angel slime, and a gem jamboree. It can also be obtained through entering a code in the Wi-Fi Plaza.
Their solid-gold physiques are the envy of all slimekind. They also serve as status symbols among monster wranglers―including one in your squad is basically showing off.

NOTE:Large-sized gem slimes are programmed to have unique stat reductions instead of those brought on by the Tactical Trooper trait, with their maximum HP, MP, Attack, and Wisdom being reduced by 15% while their Defence and Agility are increased by 10%.
Gem slime appears as a S-rank monster of the Slime family on its own banner alongside the Gold-plated puppet as part of the 1-Year Festival Eve "Invites to the Land of Golden Sands" event. As of the most recent update in the Japanese version, it can be scouted from any banner, including the Regular SP Scout.
