Hell niños are cloud monsters made of super-heated reddish-orange gas that float in midair typically found near volcanoes or other hot places. At the center of the clouds is a cartoonish face that can breathe out fire breath. They are also capable of casting fire magic on their opponents. According to their monster description in various games, they will split in two once they grow to a certain size, with both monsters sharing the same soul.
"Hell niño" is a play on the climate pattern El Niño. Like with Cumaulus and Freezing fog, the monster's Japanese name, Heat Gizmo (ヒートギズモ,,Hīto gizumo?) is derived from the science-fiction story Gaseous Lifeform Gizmo (ガス状生物ギズモ,,Gasu-jō Seibutsu Gizumo?), which is known in English as War with the Gizmos. It was written by American writer Murray Leinster and published in Japan in 1969.
These monsters are nothing less than sentient puffs of superheated volcano smoke. They are known to split once they reach a certain size, both new beings sharing the same mind.
Born from the burning belches of active volcanoes, they fly around the battlefield raining fire upon their foes. Once they reach a certain size, they split into two, with both beasts sharing the same soul.
Hell niño appears as a D-rank monster of the Inorganic family. It can be recruited from Chapters 12-3, 13-1, 13-3, 13-7, and 15-1 of the main storyline. It can participate in the Dancing flame and Lleviathan's Battle Roads as a party member.
