Mercurial Thrust is a skill in the series.

Characteristics edit

The user performs a thrusting attack at lightning-speed, often acting first at the beginning of the turn regardless of the user's Agility, typically dealing less damage than a normal attack.

Appearances edit

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation edit

Mercurial Thrust costs 3 MP to use and inflicts 80% damage of a normal attack as physical-type damage to a single enemy. It acts first at the start of a turn regardless of the user's Agility. It can be learned by a Warrior starting at Level 9 if their Wisdom exceeds 13 points. The ability activates quicker than Backdraft, but is slower than Kaclang, Defending Champion, Cop Out, and Whipping Boy. Mercurial Thrust can also be used by a friendly Raven lunatic once its Species Strength has reached ★★, Handsome crab, Troll, and Infernal serpent. On the enemy side, it can be used by Spiked hare and Smackanape.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation edit

Mercurial Thrust has the third highest priority of any ability in the game, trailing behind only Double Up and Kaclang, but Attack power is reduced to 80% when used. It is obtained by advancing to rank 5 of the Warrior vocation.

It is used by the enemies animated armour, Brock, octavian pirate, Zozagel, and Mortamor's second form.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past edit

Mercurial Thrust operates exactly as it did in the previous game, and is learned by reaching rank 4 of the Warrior, rank 2 of the Berserker, and rank 7 of the Notso macho
