Alvan was the second Hero of the kingdom of Grand Zetannia, who lived 1000 years prior to the events of Dragon Quest X. He is a distant ancestor of Anlucia.
Alvan and his Ally Kamil faced against the immortal demon king Nerodos in the past. During their fight against him, they learned the secrets to counter his immortality, leading to victory.
In the present, a huge statue of Alvan rests inside the Grand Zetannia castle.
