The bastard Sword is a recurring sword in the Dragon Quest series. True to real life, it is a powerful, if plain, weapon of immense size.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit | edit source]
The bastard sword was added in the 1996 remake and has an attack bonus of +105. It can be bought in Rimuldar for 31,000 gold and sold for 23,250 gold. The Hero and Warriors can equip it. If the Hero is able to kill Baramos by themselves, then the King of Aliahan will give them a bastard sword as a reward for the achievement.

The bastard sword has an attack bonus of +61. It can be bought for 8,800 gold in Arcadia and sold for 4,400 gold. Fowl fighters and right wings drop them rarely. The Hero, Jessica and Red can equip them.
