The hairband is a recurring piece of headwear in the Dragon Quest series which first appeared in Dragon Quest V. It is a basic headpiece typically reserved for female characters.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit | edit source]
The hairband has a defence bonus of +5. It can be worn by Alena, Maya, and Meena. It only appears in remake versions of the game.
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride[edit | edit source]
The hairband has a defence bonus of +7. It can be worn by female characters. It can be bought for 150 gold. Honey has the hairband as part of her equipment.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit | edit source]
The hairband can be bought for 150 gold in Clearvale and sold for 112 gold. It has a defense bonus of +7 and a style bonus of +10. Milly and Ashlynn can equip it.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]
The hairband has a defense bonus of +4 and a style bonus of +10. It can only be equipped by Maribel and Aishe. One can be found in Maribel's room in Pilchard Bay. It can be bought for 100 gold and sold for 50 gold.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined[edit | edit source]
The hairband increases the defence and the magical might by 5, and can be equipped by Maribel and Aishe. Hairbands can be found in multiple locations through the game. They can be purchased dfor 150 gold coins and sold for 75. It can be purchased in Estard and obtained in the Lucky Panel minigame in Pilgrim's Rest in the past.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit | edit source]
The hairband has a defence bonus of +5. It can only be worn by Jessica and is equipped by her when she joins the party. It can be bought for 150 gold in Peregrin Quay and sold for 75 gold. In the 3DS version Red can equip it as well. It can be upgraded into the Bunny ears in the Alchemy Pot by combining it with a Bunny tail.
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit | edit source]
Unlike other games in the series, the hairband is a unisex piece of equipment and is worn around the forehead.
