Klepto Clobber is a skill in the series.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

This skill allows the user to steal an item from the target after performing an attack.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]

In the original Sony PlayStation version, ThiefHit is a hybrid ability learned by reaching maturity as a Warrior or Thief, either by reaching rank 5 or completing 30 battles without changing vocations, then immediately switching to the other vocation. It costs no MP to use, deals the same amount of damage as a normal attack to a single enemy, and has a chance to steal the monster's item, with the success rate being the same as their drop rate. However, if the skill deals a finishing blow to a monster, it will not be able to steal the item. It is also not possible to steal items from bosses or Monster Hearts with this skill. On the enemy side, it can be used by Brigand and Rogue, but it does not actually steal any item from the party.

  • In the Nintendo 3DS version, since hybrid skills no longer exist, Klepto Clobber is learned normally by reaching rank 8 as a Thief or rank 5 as a Gladiator.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined[edit | edit source]

Klepto Clobber now costs 2 MP to use and the success rate of stealing an item is improved, increasing with the user's Deftness. It is also now possible to steal an item even if the skill finishes off an enemy. However, due to the change in the vocation system, it is only possible to use Klepto Clobber as a Thief.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker[edit | edit source]

Klepto Clobber costs no MP to use, deals 10% of a normal attack damage to a single enemy, and has a high chance of stealing their item. It can be learned from various skill sets.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2[edit | edit source]

Klepto Clobber can be learned from all the skill sets it could be previously.
