The Shocktopus is a monster that appears in Dragon Quest IX. It is a mechanical octopus constructed in the monster world to serve as a living weapon.

Characteristics edit

Shocktopuses are metallic grey mechanical monsters constructed to look like octopi with spikes coming out of their large heads. They are roughly the size of adult humans and walk about on their eight tentacles. Their automaton bodies make them immune to a various status effects. The robotic cephalopods attack by spinning rapidly and slashing with their sharp spikes or firing them off like a barrage of missiles. When shocktopuses become severely damaged, they are prone to self-destructing violently in an attempt to take their opponents with them.
