Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Sidewinder is the common name for crotalus cerastes, a pit viper found in the southwestern region of America. The snakes are notable for their unusual slithering motion in which the head is extended perpendicular to the body along with the tip of the tail and used to move the center of the body forward in sideways-like manner, hence the name. Though unorthodox, this locomotion method allows the snakes to reach speeds of 18 miles per hour.
