Yggdrasil dew is a healing item in the series.

Characteristics edit

The Yggdrasil dew fully restores the entire party's HP and is consumed upon use. It is a very rare item, typically only found in treasure chests in dungeons, from special events, or dropped by certain monsters such as King cureslimes. In some games, phials can be created through Alchemy, with an Yggdrasil leaf being one of the main ingredients. In its original appearance, only one phial of Yggdrasil dew could be carried by the party at a time, but later games removed this restriction. According to some of the Japanese Official Guide Books, the dew is not imbibed, but rather sprinkled around the party like a mist.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride edit

A phial of dew can be obtained by examining the fountain in Zenithia as in the previous game. Starting with the PlayStation 2 remake, the player can now get an additional three phials at the Stark Raving T'n'T Board that becomes available after defeating Estark. Additionally, it has a ¹⁄₆₄ chance of being dropped by Conkuistadors, meaning it is potentially possible to have as many phials as desired.

Yggdrasil dew fully restores the entire party's HP and is consumed upon use. It can be purchased in a shop at Gröndal in the present for 1,000 gold coins, however, if the character in the lead already has one or there is already one in the bag, the item will go out of sale and you won't be able to purchase one. It is possible to circumvent this by giving the phials to the other three characters in the party, as their inventory is not checked by the game. It is possible to obtain up to 37 phials in this way.

Other phials of Yggdrasil dew can be found at the Sanctum of the Cirrus in the present, the Den of the Dwarves in the past, the Beacon in the present, Burnmont in the present after the Demon King's resurrection, along with the Vogograd Region in the Nintendo 3DS version. It has a ¹⁄₁₂₈ chance of being dropped by King cureslime and Conkuistador.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King edit

Yggdrasil dew fully restores the entire party's HP and is consumed upon use. Some phials can be found at Castle Trodain in a treasure chest requiring the Ultimate key to open, the small island south of Ascantha, Tryan Gully, and the Dragovian Sanctuary. Each phial can be sold for 1,250 gold. It has a ¹⁄₂₅₆ chance of being dropped by King cureslime and is always dropped by Megalodon. Phials of Yggdrasil dew can be created in the Alchemy Pot and can also be mixed with other items.

In the Nintendo 3DS version, it has a ¹⁄₈ chance of being dropped by Santaclops.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age edit

Yggdrasil dew can be collected from certain sparkly spots in Yggdrasil, and has a ¹⁄₁₂₈ chance of being dropped by Bomboulders and Vicious bomboulders. In the postgame, Yggdrasil dew can be purchased at Puerto Valor's Casino for 10,000 tokens each. One can be found in a treasure chest on Level 4 of the Citadel of Spite. There is no restriction on obtaining phials in this game.

In the 2D mode of the 3DS and Definitive Edition, a phial of Yggdrasil is received as a reward for completing the quest "Come On, Kiefer!".

Dragon Quest Monsters edit

Known as WorldDew in this game, it will fully restore the HP of all monsters and is consumed upon use. It can be purchased for 500 gold from the second shop at GreatTree after completing the Gate of Anger and it can be sold for 375 gold. In this game, it is possible to have more than one, only being limited by Terry's inventory. Phials can sometimes be picked up from the ground in later Gates.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker edit

Yggdrasil dew only restores around 100~120 HP to all monsters in this game. However, it can be purchased for 3,000 gold each from the Domus Isle Departure Store during the postgame. One is received as a reward for solving the second question of the Advanced Monster Scout Proficiency Test on Infant Isle. It can occasionally be found in brown treasure chests. Two phials can be found in the Temple of the Sun and Tartarus respectively. There is also a woman in the sewers of Domus Isle that gives you a phial of Yggdrasil dew after the finals of the Monster Scout Challenge.

Belial will always drop a phial of Yggdrasil dew, while Soulspawn has a ¹⁄₃₂ of dropping one.
