The Cerberex is a monster that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest VII.
It is a two-headed hellish hound that uses both of its fang-lined maws to bite at enemies.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
The crazed Cerberex is a furious hound to be feared, with awesome jaws so fast that both heads can snap at all adventures in a party with a single attack, causing chaos for unprepared parties or weakened fighters.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
The Cerberex and its pallet swaps are based on the two-headed dog Orthrus of Greek mythology. The hound was the guard dog for the cattle pens of the giant Geryon, and was one of the offspring of Echidna and Typhon. It was slain by Hercules as part of the process of completing his Tenth Labor.
- The monster's old localization name and Japanese name is a reference to The Hound of the Baskervilles, a Sherlock Holmes novel.
