The Overlord's axe is recurring axe in the series. Descriptions in each game allude to its history as the weapon of choice for a cruel warlord in the distant past; though morbid, this explains its power against human-like monsters.

Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]
The overlord's axe has an Attack bonus of +88, a style bonus of +10 and a weight of 42, and boost damage against humanoid enemies by 10%. It can only be equipped by a Death Master, Monster Wrangler, Ranger, Pirate or Warrior above level 60.
