The Platinum plumes are a boomerang in the series.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
The platinum plumes are a recoloured version of the Gusterang, being shaped like a pinwheel and consisting of three curved blades. The center of the boomerang is red and the base of the blades are golden, while the ends of the blades are made of platinum. Its design incorporates elements seen in other pieces of platinum equipment.

Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]
The Platinum plumes have an Attack bonus of +38, a Style bonus of +13, and a Weight bonus of +5. They increase damage dealt in the colosseum by 15%. They have an equipment level of 42 and can be equipped by a Sage, Ranger, Item Master, Gadabout, Pirate, or Hermit. The boomerang can be crafted by a weapon blacksmith.

Dragon Quest X Offline[edit | edit source]
The Platinum plumes have an Attack bonus of +38, a Charm bonus of +17, and can be equipped by the Hero as a Ranger, Sage, or Gadabout. The boomerang can be crafted with the Fun-Size Forge.

Dragon Quest Smash/Grow[edit | edit source]
The Platinum plumes are a 3★ Dark-elemental boomerang with an Attack bonus of +51 and a maximum bonus of +178. Its Coup de Grâce is Fizzlerang and its Enchantment is Dark Sword of Damocles. Its starting Boon is Attack +5 for Thief characters. It can be acquired randomly from any transmuter, including the 3★ Weapon Guaranteed Transmuter that can be rerolled as many times as desired.
