The raving mad cap is an upgraded version of the mad cap that appears in the Nintendo 3DS remake of Dragon Quest VII and in Dragon Quest VII Reimagined.
It looks exactly like the regular mad cap, except this one shines.
Appearances[edit | edit source]
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]
The raving mad cap is available for all characters except for Kiefer. It increases Defence by +13, Style by +8, and cuts spell costs by 75%. Unfortunately, the game's programming does not allow this to stack with the Sage and Druid MP discounts due to only selecting the best reduction rate instead of adding them. The cap is available upon the first completion of the DLC Tablet True Steel by defeating the Überkilling machine boss.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined[edit | edit source]
The raving mad cap returns in Reimagined. It boosts defence by 35 points and magical might by 39 points, and it cuts MP consumption by 50%. It can be equipped by everyone buy Kiefer. This hat can only be obtained in the Buccanham Palace Battle Arena, specifically by clearing the third rampage road, the Fuming Road, within 80 turns. It does not have a purchase or sale price.
