The Striking sabrecat is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest II.
When it first debuted, it was a stronger, pink-furred variant of the Sabrecat, but in some spinoff games it became a palette swap of the Great sabrecat instead.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
The original Striking sabrecat resembles the real-world smilodons of the Pleistocene era with pink fur and fearsome solid yellow eyes. This design make a reappearance in Stars, but starting with Monster Battle Road II, the sabrecat became a pink and red-furred palette swap of the Great sabrecat. This design went on to reappear in Joker 3 and Tact, as well.
Appearances[edit | edit source]
Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line[edit | edit source]
The party faces a Striking sabrecat at the castle of Dirkandor in exchange for the Moon Sigil.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3[edit | edit source]
Tigercub appeared as an infant form to the Striking sabrecat, paralleling the Great sabrecat and the Great sabrecub.
Dragon Quest Tact[edit | edit source]
Striking sabrecat appears as an A-rank monster of the Beast family that can be scouted normally from any banner. The striking sabrecat can be faced as an enemy at Dirkandor during the limited Dragon Quest II event, referencing the Luminaries' acquisition of the Moon Sigil. It can participate in Heligator's Battle Road as a party member.
