The Scholar's cap is a hat in the series.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

A hat specifically designed for spellcasters that enhances their magical abilities. It has the appearance of a dark blue beret with an orange tassel at the top. Small runes are inscribed in gold near the bottom. In X and Stars, the scholar's cap has a completely different appearance, with two tall protrusions on the left and right in lavender with red tassels attached. It is similar to the hats worn by Nevan and Jacqueline.

The scholar's cap has a Defence bonus of +33, a Wisdom bonus of +10, and can only be equipped by Jessica and Angelo. It can only be made in the Alchemy Pot and can be mixed to create other pieces of equipment, as well. The hat can be sold for 5,750 gold.

Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]

The Scholar's cap has a Defence bonus of +24, a Style bonus of +8, a Magical Might bonus of +22, a Magical Mending bonus of +21, and increases the wearer's Weight by 1. It has an equipment level of 50. It can be equipped by Mages, Priests, Sages, Fortune Tellers, Druids, and Death Masters.

The entire set consists of the cap, the scholar's robe top and bottom, and scholar's sandals. It can be made by a tailor. If all four pieces are equipped, the wearer gains a Style bonus of +30, a Magical Might bonus of +10, and a Magical Mending bonus of +10.

Dragon Quest X Offline[edit | edit source]

The Scholar's cap has a Defence bonus of +24, a Magical Might and Magical Mending bonus of +23, a max MP bonus of +4, and a Charm bonus of +18. It increases resistance against sleep and being stunned into inaction by 10%. The cap can be equipped by the Hero as a Mage, Priest, or Sage, as well as Raguas, Fuura, Duston, and Anlucia. It can be crafted with the Fun-Size Forge.

The recipe book Fine Fashions for Philosophers contains the recipe for the scholar's cap. It can be received as a reward for completing Quest #43 at the Warrior's Rest Inn.
