The Staff of divine wrath is a wand in the series.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
This staff deals wind-elemental damage to a single group of enemies when used as a tool in battle. In Dragon Quest XI, it is classified as a heavy wand.
- The staff's original design is made from silver wood with gold and is topped with a design of a white winged figure holding a golden lightning bolt, with clouds and a corona behind it.
- An alternate design was introduced in Dragon Quest VIII. It has a blue handle with gold near the base and top of the staff, featuring the design of a bearded angel holding a blue crystal orb at the top.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit | edit source]
The Staff of divine wrath has an Attack bonus of +35 and can only be equipped by Kiryl and Meena. When used as a tool in battle, it casts Swoosh on a single group of enemies. In the original NES version, it can be received from the Medal King in exchange for a single Small medal. It can be sold for 3,225 gold, but it is not recommended to do so due to its rarity.
- In remake versions of the game, the staff of divine wrath is received as a reward for turning in 30 Mini medals at Minikin's Dominion.
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride[edit | edit source]
The Staff of divine wrath has an Attack bonus of +35 and can be equipped by Bianca, Nera, the Daughter, the Chimaera, Conkerer, Conkuisitor, Dracky, Epipany, Fandangow, Fat rat, Funghoul, Ghost, Grudgerigar, Hulagan, Old man of the sea, Pocus poppet, Prestidigitator, Snowbird, Ticking timeburrm, and Wiz pip. It casts Woosh on a single group of enemies when used as a tool in battle. It is found in a treasure chest on 8F of Gotha Pass and can be received as a prize on lucky squares in Treasures n' Trapdoors boards.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit | edit source]
The Staff of divine wrath has an Attack bonus by +35, a Style bonus of +20, and can be equipped by Milly and Nevan. In the original Super Famicom version, it can also be equipped by Damned ram, High djinks, and Gustbluster monster companions. When used as a tool in battle, it inflicts 15~35 wind-elemental damage to a single group of enemies. The staff is received as a reward from the Medal King for turning in 15 Mini medals.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]
The Staff of divine wrath has an Attack bonus of +35, a Style bonus of +20, and can be equipped by Maribel and Sir Mervyn. Once again, it casts Swoosh on a single group of enemies when used as a tool in battle. It is received as a prize from the Medal King for turning in 50 Mini medals. Staff of divine wrath can also be received as a prize from the Lucky Panel at the Casino. In the original Sony PlayStation version, it can be purchased for 1,000 gold from the Cathedral evolution of the Immigrant Town, as well.
- In the Nintendo 3DS version, it is possible to acquire a staff of divine wrath by creating a custom Traveller's Tablet with a Shaman as the boss.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined[edit | edit source]
The Staff of divine wrath has an Attack bonus of +43, a Magical Might bonus of +44, a Magical Mending bonus of +25, and a MP absorption rate of 10%. It can be equipped by the Hero, Maribel, Ruff, and Sir Mervyn. It casts Kaswoosh on 2~5 enemies when used as a tool in battle. It can be purchased for 8,000 gold from Aeolus Vale and the Divine Shrine and sold for 4,000 gold. It can also be received as a prize from the Lucky Panel at Pilgrim's Rest after the Demon King's resurrection.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit | edit source]
The Staff of divine wrath has an Attack bonus of +35 and can be equipped by Jessica and Angelo. When used as a tool in battle, it inflicts 32~64 wind-elemental damage to a single group of enemies. It is received as a reward by turning in 45 Mini medals to Princess Minnie. It has a 1⁄256 chance of being dropped by Ice queen, as well. The staff can be sold for 2,500 gold, but item collectors may not wish to do so due to its rarity.

Dragon Quest Monsters[edit | edit source]
Known as the WindStaff in this game, it casts Infernos on all enemies when used as a tool in battle. Unlike other games in the series, it has a limited number of uses in battle before it breaks. It can be purchased for 1,500 gold from the third shop at GreatTree's bazaar after clearing B Class of the Starry Night tournament. WindStaffs can also be picked up randomly from the ground from the Gates of Bewilder, Peace, and Bravery.

The Staff of divine wrath is Treasure No. 117 in the Weapons category and can be found at Cinderback Ridge. It has a base value of 1,000,000 gold. There is also a crystalline version known as the Crystal Staff of Divine Wrath.

The Staff of divine wrath is an A-rank wand with a WIS bonus of +22 that increases the wielder's Woosh-type potency by 2%. It can be received as a reward for completing the Woosh-type Equipment: Ultra stage of Elemental Equipment.
