Strong medicine is a healing item in the series. It restores around 40 or more HP to a single party member. In games where Alchemy appears, it can be created by mixing two medicinal herbs together, but later in the game it can also be purchased from various shops, as well.

Strong medicine restores around 50~68 HP to a single character. It appears exclusively in the Nintendo 3DS version, being commonly found in DLC Tablets and Traveller's Tablets in pots, barrels, treasure chests, and occasionally dropped by monsters. It can be sold for 6 gold.

Strong medicine restores 50~68 HP to a single party member and is consumed upon use. In addition to being made in the Alchemy Pot, it can be purchased randomly from the girl selling herbs at Port Prospect for 10 gold. It can also be dropped by various monsters, including Gargoyless, Hades' condors, Stone golems, Treefaces, and Treevils.
In the original Sony PlayStation 2 version, strong medicine can be sold for 88 gold each for the first 29 sold, 264 gold each for the 30th to 49th sold, then back to 88 gold for the 50th onward. Since the Alchemy Pot works instantly in the Nintendo 3DS version, strong medicine can only be sold for 48 gold each for the first 29 sold, 32 gold each for the 30th to 49th sold, then only 16 gold each from the 50th onward.
Strong medicine can be mixed to make even more restorative items in the Alchemy Pot, as well.

Strong medicine can be purchased from various shops and roving emporiums around the world for 36 gold, starting from Gallopolis in the first act. It can be picked up from sparkly spots in the Heliodor Region, Laguna di Gondolia, and the Ruins of Dundrasil. Strong medicine can be dropped from various monsters, including Bongo drongos, Great sabrecats, Malicious hammerhoods, Medislimes, Stump grumps, Vicious drackies, Vicious fright bulbs, Vicious great sabrecubs, Vicious slimes, and Zumeanies. On the enemy side, Vicious stump chumps are able to heal themselves or a fellow monster with doses of strong medicine.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit | edit source]
Strong Medicine Throw appears as a Perk that can be learned by Stump chump through Talent Blossoming. If an ally is attacked by an enemy within healing range, Stump chump will automatically heal them for a small amount of HP with a Strong Medicine.
