The Words of Wisdom is an enlightening tome that allows any character, no matter their level or vocation, to become a Sage.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit | edit source]
The Words of Wisdom allows any vocation to become a Sage at Alltrades Abbey. The treatise can only be used once, and is found in the Tower of Transcendence. The 16-bit remake adds another one in Rimuldar. In the NES version of the game belisha beakons have a 1/2048 chance of dropping the scroll, but this was removed in all other iterations of the game.

The HD-2D Remake adds another copy of the scroll in the small clearing in the mountains southeast of Khoryv, hidden in a barrel.
