Tanaya, previously translated as Tania, is a NPC in Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation. She is the granddaughter of a shopkeeper in the town of Baharata and lover of Gopal Gupta.
Kidnapping[edit | edit source]
Tanaya is kidnapped by Robbin' 'Ood before the heroes arrive in Baharata. The reason for her kidnapping is never mentioned in the game, though it is presumably for a significant ransom. She and her fiance, Gopal, are later rescued by the heroes after they defeat the criminal for a second time in Kidnapper's Cave.
Home[edit | edit source]
Both she and Gopal inherit the pepper shop from her grandfather.
Previous localization[edit | edit source]
Prior to distribution of III from Square Enix on US Cell phones, Tanaya was referred to as Tania on the NES and GBC version of the game. The name has since been used for the sister of VI's Hero.
