The Bilhaw is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series.

Introduced in Dragon Quest V, it is a stronger, greenish-blue colored variant of the Balhib.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

Like balhibs, bilhaws are centaur-like, having four legs and two arms, winged, and have thick tails. They also wield axes like balhibs do. The primary differences is that bilhaws are a far less lustrous shade of blue, and are rumored to be Woebergines that have awakened their demonic powers, according to various bestiary entries of the monster.

Having initially appeared as a bonus dungeon monster, bilhaws have the strength that comes with such a role. While they tend to pay out a large amount of gold, it is not nearly as much as the amount given by balhibs.
