The Medislime is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV. It is a variant of the Healslime that specialises in casting Midheal on its allies.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Medislimes are healslimes with amber-coloured heads and purple tentacles. They are more capable than their blue brethren, but not quite on par with the more common cureslimes. Although their healing magic is not as on par as their magenta cousins, occasionally the medislimes will compensate by being physically stronger.
Appearances[edit | edit source]
Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit | edit source]
In the remakes of Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen starting from the Playstation version, a medislime named Mary Curey (a pun on the name Marie Curie) can be first found in Strathbaile after the party meets the Zenith Dragon (Nintendo DS version) or after Estark is defeated (Cell phone version). Although a friendly monster, she was captured and thrown in the town's jail due to her appearance frightening the locals. The party can free then free her using the Ultimate Key (much to the shock of the guard near her cell) and the she can be asked to move in to Pioneer Town, where she is present in the fourth and final stage of the town. In the former, she can be found in the town's cellar where she has befriended the frog (who is actually the cursed sultan of the kingdom that disappeared after he was cursed) that constantly made his appearance throughout the various stages of Pioneer Town. In the latter, she now resides in the town's, now a castle, well where she states that she misses the frog.
Mary Curey's name can be mentioned by Healie in Chapter 1 after interacting with certain characters in Burland then using Party Chat while he is in the party, mentioning on how he is friends with Guru Curu and Mary Curey and how he has not seen them in a while.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies[edit | edit source]
Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]
Medislimes appeared from the beginning of the game. Naturally, they are still capable of casting Midheal on their allies and will flee when threatened. These slimes can also be summoned by other monsters, such as Infernal armours.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit | edit source]
This monster does not have a vicious, nor a malicious variant.
Dragon Quest Tact[edit | edit source]
Medislime appears as a B-rank monster of the Slime family. It can join the party after turning 1 mini medal to King Maximog and is recruitable from Chapter 8, Episode 4: Treasure Hunting Part 2 or Chapter 3, Episode 1 of the Slime Fest at any difficulty. The medislime can participate in the Bubble slime, Rashaverak, and Krystalinda's Battle Roads as a party member.
