One may be found in [[Cantlin]] and another in the fourth [[Treasures n' Trapdoors]] track in [[Kol]]. The dark robe can be sold for 12,375 gold, but it is not recommended to do so as there is a limited amount in the game. It only appears in remake versions of the game.

The Dark robe has a {{Defence}} bonus of +78, a {{Style}} bonus of +32, and increases the wearer's evasion rate by {{fraction|1|6}}. It can be equipped by [[Maribel]], [[Ruff]] and [[Sir Mervyn]]. It has a {{fraction|1|256}} chance of being dropped by [[Swag bagger|Swag baggers]], which is the only way to obtain one in the original Sony PlayStation version. In the Nintendo 3DS version, the robe can also be dropped by [[Robber baron|Robber barons]] at the same rate. It can be sold for 8,250 gold, but item collectors may not wish to do so due to its rarity.

One can be found in a treasure chest at the [[Black Citadel]] and it has a {{fraction|1|64}} chance of being dropped by [[Invisible swordsman|Invisible swordsmen]]. The robe can be sold for 10,500 gold for the first one sold, then drops to 3,200 for the second onward. It can also be made in the [[Alchemy Pot]] and can be mixed to create a [[Phantom mask]].
