Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai[edit | edit source]
Glimmer purifies an area, freeing the monsters inside it from the dark influence emanating from dark lords such as Hadlar. In order to cast it, the user must draw a circumscribed five-point star in order to establish the area of effect of the spell.
As holy magic this spell is normally exclusive to Priests, Sages and Heroes, though with the aid of a catalyst Popp (a Mage) is able to produce a small-scale version which frees a brainwashed Brass from Hadlar's control. This is later retconned as an early sign of Popp's latent Sage potential.
