Pteranodons appeared in the game starting with Version 1.0. They have gained the ability to cast [[Bang]] since [[Sizz]] was not available at the beginning of the game. A trio of pteranodons are faced as bosses in the quest "Coda for Tomorrow" alongside a [[Great Argon lizard]] in Version 2.3. They are much stronger than normal, gaining the ability to cast [[Kaboom]] and [[Oomph]] and breathe out [[Freezing Blizzard]].   • In an especially close bit of scientific accuracy, Akira Toriyama added teeth to the Pteranodon's beak. These were exclusive to the Rhamphorhynchus genus, and not present in other pterosaurs.
